- Hi I have problems with the 2a4 release and have been reading for about
- a week without seeing anyone else with this problem so here goes. . .
-
- When using wmos2a4 and transferring a large-ish (>50KB) file (html etc)
- it starts getting slower and slower and slower. I put Trumpet Winsock
- in TCP Trace mode, and about 2 out of every 5 packets are marked
- as being damaged! (hence tcp timeouts etc) I can then stop the 2a4
- Mosaic and bring up the 2a2 Mosaic, and I see maybe 1 damaged packet in
- 100 - and that may be because of the tracing overhead!
-
- A repeatable HTML I have found it the March "what's new" HTML in the
- current What's New page.
-
- OK my configuration:
- H/W: DX2-66, 8MB ram, 8MB permanent swap, NO 16650 uart
- S/W: Trumpet Winsock 1a, DOS 6.2, Win 3.1
- - using Compressed SLIP w 14.4 modem.(uart speed 38.4)
- - MTU 512 MSS 470 RWIN 2048
-
- As I mentioned - the previous mosaicss work great! And this problem is fully
- repeatable. I do notice a *lot* of disk activity *after* quiting Mosaic 2a4 -
- could my ram be casuing me to swap enough that my serial port is missing
- characters??
-
- Regards, and insight appreciated,
- Mark M.
